El combustible es el segundo costo operativo de ferrocarril m\u00e1s grande, despu\u00e9s de la mano de obra. Y el aceite lubricante es mucho m\u00e1s complejo de lo que parece, ya que su qu\u00edmica es un indicador preciso de qu\u00e9 tan bien est\u00e1 funcionando un motor y cu\u00e1ndo podr\u00eda ser inminente una falla.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240530064116\/https:\/\/www.csx.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CSX<\/a>&nbsp;y el&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240530064116\/https:\/\/www.mbta.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MBTA<\/a>\u2019Las operaciones de trenes de cercan\u00edas est\u00e1n utilizando an\u00e1lisis y tecnolog\u00eda impulsada por inteligencia artificial (IA) para optimizar y analizar el combustible y el aceite lubricante, respectivamente.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Datos Moleculares MBTA<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El MBTA, bajo la direcci\u00f3n del Director de Ferrocarriles Ryan Coholan, se asoci\u00f3 con&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240530064116\/https:\/\/4atmos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4Atmos Technologies LLC<\/a>, un proveedor con sede en Dallas, Texas, de soluciones de Big Data para el IIoT (Internet Industrial de las Cosas) y an\u00e1lisis predictivos dentro de un programa llamado Oil Velocity Solutions. El programa aplica modelado de IA a datos de laboratorio de aceite lubricante y los agrupa \u201cen coincidencias con firmas de fallas conocidas, no solo umbrales para l\u00edmites superiores e inferiores\u201d, seg\u00fan el presidente de 4Atmos, Mike Jensen. \u201cLos fluidos son registradores de datos moleculares esperando contar sus historias\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El programa Oil Velocity Solutions analiza no menos de siete modos de falla de locomotoras relacionados con el aceite lubricante, vinculados a:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Fugas de combustible\/Viscosidad.<br>\u2022 Sobrepresi\u00f3n del c\u00e1rter.<br>\u2022 Escape de gases\/turbocompresor.<br>\u2022 Contaminaci\u00f3n\/diluci\u00f3n del refrigerante.<br>\u2022 Desgaste de los rodamientos del motor de tracci\u00f3n.<br>\u2022 Metales de desgaste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tras un exitoso programa piloto de seis meses, la MBTA contrat\u00f3 a 4Atmos para monitorear todas sus locomotoras en producci\u00f3n completa. \u201cHemos ayudado a establecer r\u00e9cords en la MBTA en lo que llamamos buenas detecciones y ahorros\u201d, se\u00f1ala Jensen. \u201cHemos visto un r\u00e1pido retorno de la inversi\u00f3n, una reducci\u00f3n en los retrasos de los trenes, una disminuci\u00f3n en los costos de mantenimiento de las locomotoras y una mejora en la confiabilidad, con un tiempo promedio de anticipaci\u00f3n de 30 d\u00edas para la predicci\u00f3n de fallas\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde 2018, el MBTA ha pasado de muestreos de aceite cada 45 d\u00edas a muestreos cada 10 d\u00edas, lo que incorpora an\u00e1lisis predictivos de aceite\/fluidos; un Laboratorio de Aceite en el lugar atendido por personal del MBTA; una clasificaci\u00f3n de la flota de locomotoras \u201cen riesgo\u201d; recomendaciones de prescripci\u00f3n para inspecci\u00f3n y reparaci\u00f3n; y monitoreo de garant\u00eda de overhauled (revisi\u00f3n general). El programa cuenta con soluciones de reporte basadas en la web y m\u00f3viles que proporcionan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 ML (aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico) avanzado con IA.<br>\u2022 Concordancia de transferencia de flota para activos de riesgo.<br>Vista de 360 grados de la salud de la locomotora.<br>\u2022 Narrativas prescriptivas para inspecci\u00f3n y reparaci\u00f3n dirigidas.<br>\u2022 Integraci\u00f3n con sistemas de gesti\u00f3n de activos.<br>\u2022 Comparaciones con la \u2019Biblioteca de Fallas\u201c de 4Atmos y la base de datos de muestras de aceite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las \u201cLlamadas de Petr\u00f3leo\u201d semanales abordan locomotoras heredadas en riesgo, as\u00ed como unidades (como revisiones generales) con garant\u00eda, y revisiones de los cuadros de mando diarios del laboratorio. La coordinaci\u00f3n se realiza entre m\u00faltiples departamentos de MBTA e involucra a proveedores y consultores. El aspecto m\u00e1s valioso de este programa y su enfoque de \u201cprofundizaci\u00f3n\u201d, dice Jensen, es \u201cla capacidad de tomar decisiones basadas en evidencia\u201d. Esas decisiones son \u201cprescriptivas y proactivas, en lugar de reactivas\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4Atmos ha implementado un programa similar de an\u00e1lisis de aceite en CSX, que hasta la fecha ha registrado m\u00e1s de 1.000 \u201cbuenas detenciones\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Escritorio de Conservaci\u00f3n de Combustible de CSX<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dentro del centro NetOps de CSX en Jacksonville, Florida, hay un escritorio de conservaci\u00f3n de combustible.&nbsp;<em><\/em>que opera las 24 horas, los 7 d\u00edas de la semana. Respaldado por m\u00faltiples proveedores, entre ellos&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240530064116\/https:\/\/www2.wi-tronix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wi-Tronix LCC<\/a>, y utilizando tecnolog\u00eda desarrollada internamente, el Fuel Conservation Desk monitorea en tiempo real todas las locomotoras de carga activa de CSX. Con una sola persona en su personal, es la idea original del Director de Estrategia y Utilizaci\u00f3n de Combustible, Corey Davis, un veterano de CSX con 24 a\u00f1os y ganador del&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240530064116\/https:\/\/www.aar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AAR<\/a>\u2019Premio a la Excelencia Ambiental John H. Chafee 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Davis ha supervisado esfuerzos que han resultado en que CSX redujera su consumo de combustible en m\u00e1s de 8%\u2014aproximadamente 32 millones de galones\u2014 entre 2012 y 2018, y cortara las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono en 332,000 toneladas en solo un a\u00f1o. Ha trabajado para integrar completamente&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240530064116\/https:\/\/www.wabteccorp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wabtec<\/a>\u2019tecnolog\u00eda Trip Optimizer con interfaces de Positive Train Control (PTC), que permite a estos sistemas ajustarse autom\u00e1ticamente a los cambios de la red en tiempo real para optimizar la eficiencia del combustible, lo que resulta en un ahorro de combustible de aproximadamente un 6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEn total, las iniciativas bajo el liderazgo de Davis han llevado a una eficiencia de combustible r\u00e9cord y han reducido el consumo de combustible del ferrocarril en casi 60,000 galones por d\u00eda\u2019, se\u00f1al\u00f3 CSX. \u201dMirando hacia el futuro, tambi\u00e9n ha estado \u00edntimamente involucrado en el desarrollo de los ambiciosos objetivos de reducci\u00f3n de emisiones de GEI (gases de efecto invernadero) de CSX que han sido aprobados por la Iniciativa de Objetivos Basados en la Ciencia (SBTI)\u201c.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Fuel Conservation Desk (Escritorio de Conservaci\u00f3n de Combustible), que Davis describe como \u201cenfocado en la seguridad\u201d y \u201cenfocado al l\u00e1ser en los objetivos de sostenibilidad de CSX\u201d, proporciona monitoreo de cumplimiento en tiempo real, as\u00ed como capacitaci\u00f3n en tiempo real para ingenieros de locomotoras sobre t\u00e9cnicas operativas de conservaci\u00f3n de combustible. Davis, nativo de Atlanta y proveniente de una familia ferroviaria tradicional con ra\u00edces en las predecesoras de CSX, Seaboard Air Line\/Seaboard Coast Line y Louisville &amp; Nashville (L&amp;N), se refiere a estas caracter\u00edsticas como \u201cen el momento\u201d.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El objetivo de CSX para 2030 de reducci\u00f3n de GEI es de 37.3%. A partir de 2020, el ferrocarril, dice Davis, est\u00e1 adelantado a lo previsto, gracias en parte a iniciativas basadas en an\u00e1lisis predictivos como el Fuel Conservation Desk (Escritorio de Conservaci\u00f3n de Combustible).
